Terrorist Killings in Operation Mahadev: Confirmation Pending
Speaking to reporters, CM Abdullah said, “It is not confirmed yet. If confirmed, it will be good news. Since the day of the Pahalgam attack, the police, paramilitary forces, and the army have been actively pursuing the terrorists. If even one of them is neutralized today, it will be a significant achievement.”
Ongoing Security Operation Near Dachigam National Park
The operation continues near Dachigam National Park in Srinagar’s Harwan area. Inspector General of Police, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, confirmed that security forces have found three bodies, believed to be terrorists, but official identification is still underway.
The IGP stated, “The operation is ongoing. Based on internal reports, three bodies have been spotted and seem to be neutralized. However, identification will take time, and the forces are still engaged on site.”
Parliamentary Discussions on Pahalgam Attack and Operation Sindoor
Chief Minister Abdullah welcomed Parliament’s decision to discuss both the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. He emphasized the importance of addressing the Pahalgam incident first, noting concerns about intelligence and security lapses.
Abdullah stated, “The Lieutenant Governor recently admitted there was negligence and failures in intelligence and security. Parliament must discuss who is responsible for these failures before moving on to Operation Sindoor.”
Hope for Statehood Announcements During Monsoon Session
Abdullah expressed optimism about potential announcements regarding Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.
He said, “We hope for positive developments in this session. If nothing happens, we will consider further steps later. For now, I will not call for any strike as long as Parliament is in session.”
