Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Jammu and Kashmir Police Diwali Mela 2025 at Gulshan Ground, Jammu on Tuesday. The event began with a heartfelt tribute to the brave officers of J&K Police who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.
Speaking at the occasion, the LG praised the dedication of police personnel and their families, highlighting their role in maintaining peace and security across the Union Territory.
‘Vocal for Local’ — LG Promotes Swadeshi and Self-Reliance
In his address, LG Sinha urged people to support local artisans, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and small businesses by buying Swadeshi products this Diwali.
“Let us strengthen our local economy, empower entrepreneurs, create jobs, and build a self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He emphasized that this Diwali should be celebrated with the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ to promote economic growth and national pride.
“All families should purchase handicrafts, handloom items, and traditional products as Diwali gifts. This not only spreads patriotism but also helps small business owners,” he added.

The Diwali Mela, organized by J&K Police in collaboration with the Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), featured a lively mix of entertainment and awareness activities.
