🌱 India to Host One of Asia-Pacific’s Largest Green Ammonia Projects

In a major step toward clean energy leadership, JK Srivastava Hynfra (JKSH)—a joint venture between India’s JK Srivastava Group and Poland-based Hynfra—has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NREDCAP, the renewable energy agency of Andhra Pradesh, to set up a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia hub near Visakhapatnam Port.

🔋 Key Project Highlights

  • Total Investment: ₹35,000 crore (~$4 billion)

  • Production Target: Up to 1 million tons of green ammonia annually

  • Energy Source: Powered by 3 GW of solar and wind energy, supported by battery storage systems

  • Operational Launch: Early 2029

  • Export Focus: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan

  • Domestic Use: For sectors like fertilizer, power, transport, and digital infrastructure

🌍 Global Impact & Export Potential

A significant portion of the green ammonia produced will be exported to East Asian nations for clean energy generation. These countries plan to decarbonize their thermal power plants using ammonia as a co-fuel with coal. The rest will boost India’s own green energy ecosystem.

🗣️ What the Leaders Said

Dr. J.K. Srivastava, CMD of JKSH, remarked:

“This MoU with Andhra Pradesh marks the beginning of one of the largest green ammonia hubs in the region. This project will position India as a major exporter of clean energy solutions.”

Tomoho Umeda, President of Hynfra and Board Member of JKSH, said:

“We’re merging 100+ years of chemical expertise with India’s green energy ambitions. This project aims to meet top international standards, including RFNBO certification.”

🏭 Green Hydrogen Valley in Andhra Pradesh

The facility will act as the central export hub in Andhra Pradesh’s upcoming Green Hydrogen Valley—a cluster for hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and export infrastructure. This initiative aligns with India’s vision of becoming a global leader in green fuels.
