Major Search Operations Launched Across Valley

Security forces in Jammu & Kashmir have intensified vigilance along the Srinagar-Jammu highway and near critical installations in Srinagar and other key areas. These measures come ahead of New Year, Christmas, and Republic Day celebrations to ensure public safety.

Police and CRPF personnel are conducting area security and anti-sabotage operations, focusing on vital installations. On Tuesday, a search operation at Lal Chowk in Srinagar included frisking pedestrians and checking papers of two-wheelers.

Arrest of Terrorist Associate

On Monday evening, during a joint operation by police and security forces, authorities arrested a terrorist associate in Awantipora and seized arms and ammunition.

The suspect has been identified as Javid Ahmad Hajam from Gulab Bagh Tral. Police recovered one pistol and five live rounds from his possession. Hajam is accused of providing logistics and transporting weapons to terrorists operating in the Awantipora area.

Security Measures Ahead of Celebrations

Authorities have emphasized heightened vigilance across the valley, especially near high-risk zones and public areas. The focus remains on preventing any security threats during major public celebrations.
