Meeting at Wagah Border
Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the pilot released by Pakistan, at the Wagah border on Friday.

Visit to Military Hospital
On Saturday, Sitharaman visited Varthaman and his family at a military hospital in New Delhi, where he was undergoing medical examinations.

Expression of National Sentiment
In a tweet, the Defence Ministry stated that Sitharaman conveyed “the sentiment of the Nation” to the pilot. She praised his “impeccable combat skills and calmness in adversity.”
